Strods Family European Vacation: Part I-Paris

My brother Sal, sister-in-law Hope, and neice and nephew Carly and Ian (Owen in college in Montana) took the plunge and were the first official family visitors. They flew into Paris, I took the fast train to meet them, and we started our Parisian adventures together. What fun!

The best way to start is by having a baguette sandwich in the park by the Eiffel Tower!

Our apt was very very close to the tower, in fact, this was pretty much the view once you stepped out the front door.

We took one of those tour boat rides on the Seine.

Ahh, April (or late March) in Paris!

After some dinner we got a second wind and went to the top of the tower.

Just in time for the hourly light show!

The next evening walking around our neighborhood.

Hope enjoying her first La Duree macaroon.

Carly and Ian being very generous with each other, sharing each flavor.

Did I mention it was SPRING?!??!?!!

At the Rodin sculpture garden, avec "the thinker".

Carly has blossomed into quite the photographer–looking for good angles and compositions everywhere! I was very proud. :)

And at Notre Dame, of course!

And Sacre Cour!

A rest from all the walking.

Enjoying another kind of macaroon - violet flavored coconut macaroons. we also tried a rose flavored one. Both delicious.

A really gorgeous cake and this cool little patisserie we found in teh 9th, on our way home from Sacre Cour.

Orange blossom flavored macaroons.

A really cool candy store. A french man suggested i go across the street to get this photo. He loved that store and felt it was the best angle. i have to agree.
