Weekend at Home

This weekend was a mellow one because we decided to stay home. Even so, there is still so much to discover and see and learn about, and everything is still so "new" and different to us that it's fun and interesting just to hang out in our current hometown. 

As most weekends begin, with me sleeping in, and Bruno keeping me company.

We then headed to the big grocery store here - Auchan. Dave hates shopping, especially after he ate some possibly "past its date" risotto beforehand. Note that we are on an escalator, with a grocery cart. Cool system they have. the stores are 2 stories but you can still take your cart everywhere.
Just a small section of the huge assortment of terrines and pates. This is pretty different than what we're used to seeing in Hannaford, even Whole Foods.

After our grocery shopping we decided to get some fresh air and go for a long walk.

There was still quite a bit of fall color. 

Dave showed me this neat little hidden path that took us into the valley neighborhoods below our apt.

Here is a beautiful house that I loved. The front garden in the entry really got me. 

Another gorgeous house, with fruit trees, gardens, etc. all within the city limits.

More fall color. I love how the green ivy looks with the russet leaves and brown trunks.

Some colorful facades and in the background, two of the skyscrapers in a nearby part of the city –Kirchberg–where all the EU and lots of banks reside.

I sort of match the rest of the buildings. 

Always a soccer goal to be found, no matter how small the yard.

These were the towers in the background of one of the earlier photos with the colorful houses in the foreground. We can also see these buildings from our living room windows.
